Notes on Catalytic P Systems

چکیده
In this paper we address the possibility of studying the computational capabilities of catalytic P systems with one catalyst by the means of iterated finite state transducers (IFT). In particular, we focus on a variant of catalytic P systems which satisfies in addition to the original definition the following property: if in a region of the P system an object is the subject of a catalytic rule, then in the same region it must exists also a non-cooperative rule that rewrites the same object. Finally, we also give a normal form for catalytic

On the computational complexity of membrane systems
We show how techniques in machine-based complexity can be used to analyze the complexity of membrane computing systems. We focus on catalytic systems, communicating P systems, and systems with only symport/antiport rules, but our techniques are applicable to other P systems that are universal. We de/ne space and time complexity measures and show hierarchies of complexity classes similar to well...
متن کاملRecent advances in the polymerization of butadiene over the last decade
The stereospecific polymerization of conjugated dienes began in 1954 with the first catalysts obtained by combining TiCl4 or TiCl3 with aluminum-alkyls, i.e. the catalytic systems previously employed for ethylene and propylene polymerizations. Subsequently, many other catalytic systems were obtained and examined by a combination of transition metal or lanthanide compounds with appropriate alkyl...
متن کاملNotes About Comparing Long-term Care Expenditures Across Countries; Comment on “Financing Long-term Care: Lessons From Japan”
The comparison of long-term care (LTC) expenditures is a difficult task. National LTC systems differ widely in terms of eligibility criteria, level of benefits, institutional variety and regional heterogeneity. In this commentary I will first give some general remarks on cross country comparisons. Then I discuss the role of the informal sector which is the most importan...
متن کاملThe Power of Maximal Parallelism in P Systems
We consider the following definition (different from the standard definition in the literature) of “maximal parallelism” in the application of evolution rules in a P system G: Let R = {r1, ...rk} be the set of (distinct) rules in the system. G operates in maximal parallel mode if at each step of the computation, a maximal subset of R is applied, and at most one instance of any rule is used at e...
متن کاملOptimum Design of Interbasin Pipe System (RESEARCH NOTES)
Pipe systems are often used to transfer moderate to medium water volumes between reservoirs or from well fields to consumers. Such systems consisting of an arbitrary number of reservoirs or other types of sources and sinks are considered here. The Lagrangean optimization principle is used for the determination of all pipe diameters giving minimum total cost of the system, when the individual di...
